Why fittings are the real job
Anyone can cut hose. The repair lives or dies on identifying the end connections correctly: a JIC 37 degree flare and an o-ring boss look similar to a hurried eye, ag equipment mixes standards freely across decades of attachments, and a mismatched thread that "mostly seals" will weep, then spray. Fixing the reason, not just the hose
Hoses rarely just die of age around here. Hose repair questions
- Can you match the hose if I do not know the size or fitting?
- Yes, that is the normal case. We measure the old hose and identify the thread on site with gauges. You do not need to know the part number or the dash size, and you do not need to know what kind of end it has. The failed hose tells us everything.
- How long does a hose repair take once you arrive?
- Most single hoses are built and tested under load within an hour of the truck arriving. Buried routings behind cabs or booms take longer, and we say so when we see it, not after.
- Will the new hose fail the same way the old one did?
- Not if the routing caused it. A hose that chafed through gets rerouted or sleeved as part of the repair, because replacing it identically just schedules the next breakdown.
- Do you replace hoses that have not failed yet?
- Gladly, and it is cheaper than the alternative. Cracked covers, exposed wire braid, seepage at fittings: all end-of-life signs. We swap them scheduled, in batches, at the multi-hose rate.
